It was a beautiful Summers day (yes we did get some in 2016) so on a trip to the Cotswolds we had a craving for a traditional Ploughman's. The Bell had good reviews and had a Ploughman's on the menu, bingo, in fact there was a smaller one available for £5 but we thought we'd go the whole hog with a large. When it turned up it was not love at first sight (see picture), bread, lettuce, ham and cheese with some pickle, what we had was nice, but where was the cucumber, celery the pickled onions??, all ploughman's should come with fat eye watering pickled onions!!
Also WHY DO PUBS/RESTAURANTS SERVE ROCK HARD BUTTER TO GO WITH THE BREAD!?
What we got was nice enough, but un-substantial and hideously over priced at a tenner each!
2/5
